A non -governmental organization based in Abuja. Helpline foundation for the Needy has donated the sum of N150,000 for the medical treatment of a baby with abnormal growth in her right cheek.

As Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate another Women’s day, Helpline Foundation for the needy, a non -governmental organization based in the nation’s state capital has called for 50 percent affirmative action in the next political dispensation.

President of the foundation, Mrs Jumai ahmadu, who made this point while speaking to journalists at the weekend in commemoration of this year Women’s Day celebration in Abuja, noted that the women have performed credibly well that they deserved equal percentage with the male counterparts.

In the spirit of this year's Christmas and New Year celebrations, Helpline Foundation for the Needy has doled out assorted food items to 310 widows and 100 orphans including other vulnerable groups in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its environs.

Helpline Foundation for the needy has launched a food bank for widows in Abuja, The Federal capital territory aimed at the basic needs of less privileged widows. Specifically, the Ngo said the food bank which is located at Diplomats Park at Area1 Abuja has been designed to routinely provide foodstuffs and other essential commodities to indigent persons especially widows in the FCT and its environs.
